The Waste Free Parks Initiative (WFPI)

The Waste Free Parks Initiative (WFPI) is an initiative aimed at ensuring proper disposal of litter in national parks, which is done by sensitizing tourists visiting parks and issuing biodegradable litter bags to aid the course.

Peaks and Safaris collaborated with 3Es Experience, the pioneer and founder of the initiative to issue the bags and create awareness at Nairobi National Park. The exercise, which took two consecutive days, was successful with over 500 litter bags issued and over 2000 tourists sensitized on the importance of being mindful when they visit the park.

This Initiative has played a fundamental role in ensuring animal habitats are preserved, kept clean and protected from plastics and other non biodegradable litter that could be harmful to their health if ingested.

Sustainability can be approached through various endless ways, and since our future and the planet’s future is in our hands, it is our responsibility to ensure that we leave a positive impact and maintain all our resources.
