As we continue to encourage and foster sustainability, we joined The Maanzoni Million Tree Challenge. This awesome initiative focuses on planting trees for reforestation and diversifying vegetation in Maanzoni. It’s a fantastic way to make a positive impact on the environment! Plus, sustainable tourism is such an important part of our work. We’re not just planting trees; we’re also creating safe and preserved habitats for wildlife to thrive alongside sustainable tourism. It’s all about making a difference in the world!
Our first visit was truly special. We discussed the future of sustainability and our role in protecting and preserving wildlife habitats. Then, we got hands-on, prepping and mixing soils, watering, and planting the seedlings. The #mmtreechallenge was pioneered by our host and champion Ciku at Johari Homes, and we teamed up with Africa Rebound Safaris. Later, during our second visit, we were joined by Award Safaris.
Tree growing is a hands-on project, and our work doesn’t stop at planting the seedlings. That’s why we visit as often as possible to not only plant more but also check on the progress of previously planted trees. A skilled team at Maanzoni tends to these trees daily, and it’s amazing to see the impact of our efforts.
As much as the focus is on tourism, we must remember that animals require safe and preserved habitats to thrive. This is why sustainable tourism is a key factor in all our practices. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of this initiative, and we can’t wait to share more about our future experiences!
