Cultural Kenya Safari 7 days/ 6 nights

Day 1:

Start your Safari at 0700hrs after breakfast, and drive to Samburu, arriving at your lodge in good time for lunch. After lunch and refreshments embark on activities where you will visit the Samburu community, you will be welcomed by the village elders who will give you a short brief history of their culture, This will be followed by visits to the blacksmith, fire making with sticks, cultural dance, and songs. Returning to your lodge by sunset.

Overnight: Sarova Shaba or similar (B,L,D) 

Nairobi –Samburu.  Approx. 5 hrs drive

Day 2:

Full day in the Shaba area with morning and afternoon game drives. Shaba’s landscape and vegetation are lusher, making it more difficult to spot wildlife, but it is indeed home to a wide variety of game, particularly special is the number of endangered species: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuks, and Somali ostrich. Elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, oryx, Grant’s gazelle, dik-dik, and waterbuck can also be found here.

Overnight: Sarova shaba or similar (B,L,D) ​

Day 3:

Depart Samburu after breakfast and proceed with your safari towards the Aberdares, arriving at Meiga area in good time for lunch and short rest before your afternoon game drive at Solio Ranch. Returning to the lodge by sunset.

Overnight: Rhino Watch Lodge or similar (B, L, D) 

Day 4:

After breakfast proceed with your safari Elementaita. Lunch at the lodge followed by an afternoon game drive at Lake  Nakuru National park, which is home to a wealth of wildlife, including both black and white rhino, the latter of which occasionally does not mind grazing close to vehicles affording you magnificent photo opportunities. Returning to the lodge by sunset.

Overnight: Sunbird Lodge or similar (B, L, D) 

Day 5:

After breakfast proceed with your safari to Loita, where you stand a good chance to first hand interact and learn about the indigenous   ‘Masai tribe’ and their ways of life. Lunch at the camp followed by village activities in the afternoon, including learning about flora and fauna of the area, medicinal plans and general knowledge of the Maasai culture, and many more.

Overnight: Majimoto/ Similar (B, L, D)

​Day 6:

After breakfast continue with village activities throughout the day.

Day 7:

Depart camp after breakfast and proceed to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, Lunch at the lodge/camp. Later on, enjoy your afternoon game drive in this vast reserve. Returning to your lodge by sunset.

Overnight: Base Camp/ Similar (B, L, D)

​Day 8:

Drive back to Nairobi upon arrival, drive time approx. 5.5.hrs, you will be dropped to the airport for your onward flight or location of choice within Nairobi.

1. Tips suggested: Driver guide $8-$10 per person sharing the vehicle per day

5. Extra activities, i.e Hot air balloon, Masai village visit
