Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – A Warm Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be warmly received by your private driver-guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Take the evening to relax and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of your surroundings.

Day 2: Materuni Waterfalls & Chagga Coffee Experience

Venture to the village of Materuni near Moshi for a day of cultural discovery. Hike to the picturesque waterfalls, visit a traditional Chagga village, and take part in a hands-on coffee-making session using time-honored methods. Enjoy a traditional Swahili lunch before returning to Arusha for dinner.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park – The Elephant Playground

Depart Arusha and drive through scenic landscapes to Tarangire National Park. Famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobabs, the park also offers sightings of big cats, giraffes, and more. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint.

Day 4: Maasai Culture & Lake Manyara Sundowners

Begin the morning with a final game drive en route out of Tarangire, then travel to the Maasai community of Esilalei. Conclude the day with sundowners at a viewpoint overlooking Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley.

Day 5: Deep Dive into Maasai Traditions & Lake Manyara Game Drive

This evening, return to camp for an energetic Maasai dance performance under the stars.

Day 6: The Datoga & Blacksmith Tribes of Lake Eyasi

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before journeying to the remote shores of Lake Eyasi. Spend the afternoon with the Datoga people — skilled pastoralists and blacksmiths — and learn about their tools, dress, and storytelling traditions passed down through generations.

Day 7: Hadzabe Bushmen – The Last Hunter-Gatherers

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Safari – Nature’s Masterpiece

Set out early to explore the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most biodiverse wildlife arenas. Descend into the crater for a full-day safari, spotting everything from black rhinos to lions and flamingos. Return to your lodge in the highlands for a relaxing final evening.

Day 9: Farewell & Departure

After breakfast, begin your leisurely drive back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at Arusha Airport for onward travel to Zanzibar or your international flight from Kilimanjaro International Airport.

  • Covid testing if necessary for your international departing flight – test fees, hospital service fees and any additional transport are at your own costs.
