This 8-day safari is ideal for travelers short on time but keen on primates and wildlife. Starting in Entebbe, you’ll drive to Kibale Forest National Park (approx. 6 hours with a lunch stop in Fort Portal) for chimpanzee tracking—home to 13 primate species including colobus and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Chimp treks last about 3 hours, with visitors in groups of six and a minimum age of 12. You’ll do a morning trek, then head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives in Kasenyi and Ishasha (known for tree-climbing lions), plus a Kazinga Channel boat cruise.
Next is Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking at one of four tracking points: Nkuringo, Rushaga, Ruhija, or Buhoma. You’ll be assigned to one of 18 habituated gorilla families in groups of eight, with tracking lasting 3 to 8 hours and a one-hour viewing time.
Your adventure ends in Lake Mburo National Park—the smallest savannah park and the only one allowing walking safaris. Expect sightings of zebras, giraffes, buffalo, impala, waterbuck, and more, plus a boat cruise with hippos, crocodiles, and colorful birdlife like kingfishers and fish eagles.
