Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu | Embrace Samburu Traditions

Your adventure begins at 0700hrs as you depart Nairobi for the rugged northern frontier of Samburu, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in Samburu culture during an authentic village visit. Be welcomed by village elders, learn about their history, witness blacksmithing demonstrations, traditional fire-making, singing, dancing, and more. Return to your lodge at sunset.

Day 2: Samburu | Wildlife & Wilderness

Spend the day exploring the untamed beauty of Shaba National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. Shaba is home to rare and endemic species including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, and more. The unique landscape offers a mix of rocky outcrops, acacia woodland, and riverine forests teeming with life.

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdare Foothills | Highland Charm & Rhino Country

After breakfast, journey south to the lush foothills of the Aberdare range, arriving at your lodge near Solio Ranch. After lunch and a short rest, enjoy an afternoon game drive at the private Solio Conservancy, renowned for its large rhino population and scenic open plains.

Overnight: Rhino Watch Lodge or similar (B, L, D)

Day 4: Aberdares – Lake Elementaita | Lakeside Safari

Travel to Lake Elementaita with a stopover for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its flamingos, rhinos, giraffes, and scenic escarpments. Keep your camera ready for up-close wildlife encounters.

Overnight: Mbweha Camp or similar (B, L, D)

Day 5: Elementaita – Loita Hills | Maasai Immersion

After breakfast, journey to the wild and remote Loita Hills, one of the most traditional and untouched Maasai regions in Kenya. After settling in and enjoying lunch at camp, join local guides for cultural immersion activities: learn about Maasai medicine, daily life, and survival skills. The evening brings campfire storytelling, dancing, and singing beneath the stars.

Day 6: Loita Hills | Live the Maasai Way

Enjoy a full day of hands-on cultural experiences: join a warrior walk, identify medicinal plants, try beading or spear-throwing, and participate in conservation storytelling. This is a deeply personal and enriching cultural day with the Maasai.

Overnight: Maji Moto Eco Camp or similar (B, L, D)

Day 7: Loita – Masai Mara | Into the Wild

After breakfast, drive to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive in this wildlife-rich reserve, home to the Big Five, sprawling plains, and dramatic skies.

Overnight: Tipilikwani Mara Camp or similar (B, L, D)

Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi | Farewell to the Wild

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive back to Nairobi (approximately 5.5 hours). You’ll be dropped off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your preferred location within the city.

  • Accommodation with meals stipulated (B, breakfast. L, lunch. D, dinner)

  • Professional English  speaking  driver/guide

  • Game drives as indicated

  • 4×4 private  game viewing vehicle

  • Water while on Safari (1ltr per person per day)

  • Emergency Evacuation Cover

Exclusions:

  • Tips suggested: Driver guide $8-$10 per person sharing the vehicle per day

  • Drinks apart from 1-liter mineral water during the safari

  • Visa and airport departure tax

  • Items of personal nature and not mentioned in the above itinerary

  • Extra activities, i.e Hot air balloon, Masai village visit
