1Mt Kenya Sirimon Route

Mount Kenya Sirimon Route

The Sirimon Route is one of the most scenic and rewarding routes for climbing Mount Kenya, with the trek targeting Point Lenana at 4,985 metres above sea level.

Located on the northwestern side of the mountain near Nanyuki, the route approaches the summit through the drier side of Mount Kenya, offering some of the finest walking on the mountain. The trail climbs gradually through impressive yellow-wood forests before opening into wide ridges, alpine landscapes and spectacular mountain scenery.

Sirimon is the least-used of the three main routes and features the most gradual ascent profile, making it an excellent option for acclimatization. The route also offers abundant wildlife in the lower reaches, beautiful alpine scenery higher up and some of the best bunkhouse facilities on this side of the mountain.
