The Serengeti Plains and the Tarangire National Park are the highlights of this safari. Experience the scenic views, majestic wildlife sprawled in their open Savannah, and the almost surreal human-animal balance maintained by local communities.

Day 1

Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport where you will be picked and transfer to Ahadi Lodge located just outside Arusha town.

Day 2

After breakfast, leave the lodge and head to the Shanga Shanga project for a guided tour before continuing your journey towards Lake Manyara National Park for game drives of this very diverse park. If you are lucky you may see the famous tree-climbing lions. Picnic lunch in the bush followed by a game drive until mid-afternoon – then slowly make your way out of the park and return to the camp.

Day 3

Morning wake-up call with birds singing. After breakfast, you head via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the endless plains of Serengeti. Game drive en-route to central Serengeti – explore the many different areas of the park, your driver-guide will advise on the best places to visit.

Day 4

Optional: Early morning head out for a Balloon flight. View the Serengeti plains from a hot air balloon followed by champagne breakfast on the landing site. A full day of game drives in Serengeti National Park. Head over to the Rock Kopjes where you have good chances of seeing some of the cat families. Cheetahs and lions use these giant rock outcrops as observation posts.

Day 5

After breakfast, head out of the Serengeti, heading back through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the Ngorongoro Crater. There are 25,000 large mammals residing in the park. The elephants are mainly bulls, females stay out of the park due to it boasting the largest predator population in Africa. Black Rhino also make their home on the grassy plains, their numbers make up for almost half of what can still be found in East Africa; about 20 in total. Leave the crater early afternoon and return to Arusha.

Day 6

After breakfast depart from Ngorongoro and head to Tarangire National Park, also known as the elephants’ playground. Spend the day game driving in this park stopping at one of the picnic spots to enjoy your packed lunch.

O/n Tarangire Safari Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 7

After breakfast, enjoy your last game drive in Tarangire making your way to the park gate. Drive back to Arusha with a packed lunch, if time allows, visit the Cultural Heritage curio shop and art gallery or the Maasai curio market before being transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport where you connect with your flight.

Covid testing if necessary, approximate costs $100 – 200$  per person and is done 2-3 days before
